Blended Edges and Custom Borders

I used the predesigned page from Baby Boy Bright template and used the blended edge straight cutter to blend the edge of my blue background with the edge of the bubble paper strip. With this tool, you can blend two papers together, two photos together, or blend a photo with a paper. Under the cut and fill ribbon, select straight cutter, blended edge. You will get 3 margins which you can increase or decrease or rotate. Notice the 3 lines. The distance between 2 of the lines is clear and between the other 2 is shaded. The center line is where the blending actually begins. The clear section keeps a high opacity and the shaded area is where the blending really shows and opacity drops. You can adjust the amount of blending by adjusting your margins. I also used the shaped edge cutter to make my hearts border. Start by insert>content>shape>rectangle and create a rectangle across the length of the page. Then using the cut and fill ribbon, select straight cutter, shaped edge. I chose the heart shape under the geometric shapes. Adjust your margins for the size of the border and use the aspect ratio and spacing to get your desired design. Then place the border edge on the rectangle edge and select erase shaded area. Now you can color and enhance your border as desired and also save as content in your freebie folder. I gave my hearts a heavy shadow and then a pretty heavy 3D effect filter after I matched the light blue background of the bubble strip.
